The Cub

Introducing....the Cub!  After some searching, we found the perfect travel trailer for our trip.  It is an 16' AeroLite Cub.  Here is the Cub on our first camping trip, to Westmoreland State Park, since we bought it in April.  We've been travelling and breaking her in with any available weekends since then.  In addition to Westmoreland, we've been to Shenandoah National Park, Blake Mountain, and the Lake Anna Winery (VA Renaissance Faire).

The Cub has 2 "pop-out" beds, and the dining area also converts into a bed.  We also have a bathroom with toilet and shower, and a kitchen with sink, stove, fridge, and even an oven!  Daisy has already tried out the shower....just look how happy she is.

It has been fun getting to shower and cook whenever we like - so different from the backpacking and backcountry camping that we are used to!  I could get used to this "glamping" thing.  Ricardo has installed a solar panel to the top of the trailer and it is working like a charm.  And, we've already towed the trailer on some pretty "rough" roads and it handled fine - good prep for the trip!

Trailing to Patagonia: The Car

Behold the Xterra! We just purchased this SUV less than a month ago after looking online and visiting several dealerships. We had to go get it to New York city (we live in Fredericksburg VA) but it has everything that we need. It's a manual transmission 4x4 and it has a 6 cylinder engine. We replaced the radio (we'll be sitting in this car for many many hours so we need good music), put a 7 pin wiring harness for the camper's electric brakes and it's ready to go! It is more than enough to tow our 3000 pound Cub and to hold all our stuff and our friends Sarah and Matt that will be joining us in California. We are very excited to start this trip and to post all our adventures!
